Mercy Support Services
A Christ-centered nonprofit in Clay County helping families facing homelessness move into stable housing and lasting self-sufficiency.
01About
About Mercy Support Services.
Mercy Support Services is a Christ-centered organization built on the premise of "a hand up, not a hand out." Its mission: through Christ, empower families who are facing homelessness to achieve a stable and sustainable future.
Its Self-Sufficiency Programs give displaced families in Clay County supportive housing, financial training, life skills building and accountability. Through faith-based life coaching and personalized success plans, Mercy stays with each family as a continuum of care until they reach self-sufficiency. Its Young Adult Self-Sufficiency Program supports young adults experiencing homelessness with safe housing, life skills, financial coaching and mentorship, preparing them for higher education, enlistment or employment.
The need is real. In 2024, more than 9.1% of Clay County's population lived in poverty, and about 85% of the people Mercy serves fall below the poverty line. Mercy is funded by individual donors, community partners, businesses, organizations and churches, which makes steady monthly giving from local businesses a natural fit.

06Questions
Supporting Mercy Support Services: common questions.
Does supporting Mercy Support Services cost my business anything?
No. We match or beat the rate you pay today, in writing. The donation to Mercy Support Services comes out of BrightStar's profit on your account, not out of your pocket.
How much would my business give to Mercy Support Services?
30% of BrightStar's profit on your processing is donated every month. For a business processing $50,000 a month, that is about $75 a month, or $900 a year. The calculator on this page shows an estimate for your volume.
How do I make sure the donation goes to Mercy Support Services?
Request a rate review from this page, or name Mercy Support Services on any form. Your account is designated to Mercy Support Services from the first month it processes.
Do I have to change my equipment or how I take payments?
Usually not. We keep your current terminals where we can, set everything up for you, and test it with you before you take a live payment.
Can I change the organization I support later?
Yes. Tell us and we will move future monthly donations to the organization you choose.
