01About
About The Father's Heart.
The Father's Heart was founded in 2009 out of a simple desire to help people in need. It is a volunteer-based body of believers from different churches, united to bring relief to families of school-aged children on the First Coast. Its mission is to bring an encounter with unconditional compassion and grace while fighting food insecurity.
The ministry grew out of the classroom. Founder Nathan Dowd taught junior high in the Clay County school system for 17 years, and saw hungry children struggle to find value in an education when their basic needs were not being met. In 2017 he left teaching to build The Father's Heart.
With the help of donors, community agencies and fundraisers, volunteers deliver groceries to families in need every month and build relationships with the families they serve. The Father's Heart has delivered more than a million meals on the First Coast. Its next step is a tutoring program, providing nourishment for the mind as well as the body.

A business joins the BrightStar Impact Network and moves its card processing to a rate that matches or beats what it pays today, guaranteed in writing.

Transactions settle
Cards are authorized, captured and settled exactly as before. Same terminals, same deposits, no change to the day-to-day.

Margin is allocated
Each month, a meaningful share of the profit on the account is set aside for the organization the business designated.

The organization receives a recurring monthly donation in the business's name, for as long as the account is open.

Does supporting The Father's Heart cost my business anything?
No. We match or beat the rate you pay today, in writing. The donation to The Father's Heart comes out of BrightStar's profit on your account, not out of your pocket.
How much would my business give to The Father's Heart?
30% of BrightStar's profit on your processing is donated every month. For a business processing $50,000 a month, that is about $75 a month, or $900 a year. The calculator on this page shows an estimate for your volume.
How do I make sure the donation goes to The Father's Heart?
Request a rate review from this page, or name The Father's Heart on any form. Your account is designated to The Father's Heart from the first month it processes.
Do I have to change my equipment or how I take payments?
